Must admit - I'm a Smash junkie and will watch online if I miss an episode. I'm a sappy romantic at heart, and I love Marilyn Monroe.

I've switched to cotton yarns, too. I ripped out and re-started a shawl from a year (two?) ago, and it's flying off the needles this time around. I really REALLY want to wear it at Lake Tahoe this summer but I'm also really enjoying how the transition between the sections of the pattern are just flowing this time around.

I'm still using a life line and waaaaaay too many stitch markers, but now they are a comfort and not a crutch. Yup, there's the marker and I just k2tog, everything's as is should be.

I guess you could say I'm a laid-back, evolved Virgo. I like things perfect but I've learned to accept when I've done the best I can, even if not quite perfect. Take this same cotton shawl. I stopped working on it last time because I couldn't get the pattern to work and I couldn't even get it to "oh, it will do" status. This time around there's still a couple of small flubs, but of the variety only you and I would ever find, looking at it. Knit 3 together because somehow in the purl row before, I managed to add a stitch.

Keep knitting, keep designing, girl, but cut yourself a little slack once in a while, okay?

Julie, are you a jelly-maker? I have a lovely lemon marmalade recipe I can share. My lemon tree regularly overloads me and I had to find something that would save all that yellow goodness for later enjoyment.

Love the tank with those pants.

I'm currently working on the Haruni shawl in Paton's Grace, in a soft faded blue that reminds me of the color of favorite jeans that have been washed into softness.

Looking forward to a knitting day soon, after you are all settled in.

Yes, it is a bummer that the Berroco Suede is discontinued, too. That was my original reason for needing a substitute. I was able to find Berroco Suede at Imaginknit a while back, but in baby-blue and that's not quite what I had in mind. When I do a second one, I'll be sure to let you know what I come up with for the yarn.
